If you’ve swung by the home page in the recent day or so you’ve probably seen a lot of random changes, text growing/shrinking, images getting moved a few pixels to the left, and then the header disappearing.
These things are the single most frustrating practice of trying to make a website happen. It’s a problem that has plagued me for years, back when if you wanted to make something look structured then you’d use tables and frames. Now it’s this CSS garbage, and it ain’t easy. Or I should in theory it is, in practice it isn’t.
I suppose that is a good thing though. It keeps me thinking, hard. Provides a challenge, and really as much as I curse my computer for it, that sense of satisfaction of getting the background image to stay in the lower left hand corner may be my favorite accomplishment of this year.
